What does FOR LOAD mean in CrossFit? FOR LOAD WOD


FOR LOAD WODS are workouts where the athlete increases their load (weight) after each rep. At first you warm-up with some light reps of whatever it is that’s programmed. It could be deadlifts FOR LOAD, snatches FOR LOAD, front squats FOR LOAD, etc. whatever it is, you start with a light weight and perform some reps to get your body primed for what’s to come, then you start whatever reps scheme is programmed and increase the weight upon each rep.

Each rep will usually have some rest in between. Some examples of FOR LOAD WODS are:

Tuesday 181002
Shoulder press 1-1-1-1-1 reps
Push press 1-1-1-1-1 reps
Push jerk 1-1-1-1-1 reps

WOD 101109
Overhead squat 1-1-1-1-1 reps
Front squat 1-1-1-1-1 reps
Back squat 1-1-1-1-1 reps
